Ludiya Village

Ludiya Village is a small village of the Harijan tribe. "Harijan" is a name given by Gandhi that means "People of God".

Though the caste system is changing now in India, people of the Harijan are still considered of very low caste: Untouchables. However, just 20 years ago, and probably for hundreds or thousands of years proceeding that, if someone of a higher caste by mistake touched them, or even brushed up against them, they were required to take a shower or bath.
